Answer for it

He puts his own name on the consignment. When something goes wrong in transit, the buyer reaches him, not a desk. He has never asked a client to chase a company for an answer he could give himself.
Businessman · Investor · Sudan
Mohamed Noorain builds companies that carry Sudanese produce to the world — and he answers for every one of them by name.
A country is not judged by what it has. It is judged by who is willing to answer for it.
He was born in El-Obeid, in North Kordofan — sesame, groundnut and gum arabic country — into a family that has farmed the same land for more than thirty years.
That is not a line of biography for him; it is how he understands the work. He grew up around harvests that succeeded and harvests that failed, and around the people whose year depended on which one it was. Long before he negotiated with a buyer abroad, he had watched what a season's rain does to a crop, and what a bad price does to a village.
He studied engineering, not trade. He ran marketing for a technology firm, then co-founded Sudan's first 3D printing company at twenty-four. Each time, the same instinct: take something Sudan can make, and make it acceptable to a market that has never been there.
In 2018 he went back to the family land as projects manager. In 2019 he became a partner in Lojain. In 2022 he founded Rossel in Istanbul, and then in Dubai. Today he leads a group with offices in five cities — and he still buys from the same auction floors he grew up beside.
He earned his MBA in Finance from the University of Khartoum in 2025, in the middle of all of it, because he had learned that trade is not decided by who has the crop but by who can finance moving it.
Four commitments that decide how he works, and which deals he walks away from.

If the season cannot deliver the grade, he says so before the contract, not after the container. Turning a deal down costs him once; a failed shipment costs the buyer and the origin together.

He buys where the crop is graded, not from a broker's list. The people who grow it are partners in the business, not a line of cost — smallholders his companies have worked with for two decades.

Every shipment that leaves badly closes a door for the next Sudanese exporter. He treats the reputation of the origin as something he is holding on loan for people he will never meet.
Production at origin, industry in the middle, and trade at the far end — he has built or led in all three, which is unusual for anyone in this business.
The international platform. Built from Istanbul, then Dubai, to give Sudanese produce a company that a buyer in Europe or Asia can contract with, finance through and hold accountable.
The production side. Farms across five schemes, sheep and poultry, cotton gins and oil presses, and the transport fleet that moves it — a house founded in 2004 that he helped turn outward.
The family company, and where he learned the trade from underneath: land, machinery, labour, stores, and the difference between a good season and a good decision.
When Sudan is discussed at an industry conference, he prefers that a Sudanese exporter be the one speaking. Both talks are published in full.
The origin's own paper: volumes, growing regions, grade structure, destinations and where prices moved.
